The short version: the calculator collects nothing. If you ask for the email reminders, we keep the few details needed to time them, and we delete everything six months after your course starts.
The figures you type in are processed in your browser and are never sent to us. Nothing is saved, and you do not need to give an email address to see a complete result.
We store your email address, your course start date, whether you selected the higher-cost region, whether you have dependants, the two dates your reminders key off, and — only if you choose to give it — your nationality. We also store the exact consent wording you agreed to and when, because we have to be able to show that you asked for these emails.
We deliberately do not collect passport numbers, financial account details, sponsor reference numbers, or dates of birth. If a form ever asks you for those on this site, something is wrong — do not enter them.
Marketing emails are sent on the basis of your consent, under UK GDPR and PECR. Consent is confirmed twice: you tick the box, and then you click a link in a confirmation email. Nothing is ever sent to an address that has not completed both steps.
Subscriber records are deleted automatically six months after your course start date. By then the reminders have served their purpose and there is no reason to keep holding your details.
Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link, honoured immediately, and a link to download everything we hold about you as a file or to delete it outright. Neither requires an account, a password, or contacting us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
If you would rather write to a person, or want anything not covered by those links, the address is hello@globalstudytools.com.
This site sets no tracking cookies and shows no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
We count page views using Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records that a page was viewed, along with the country, the type of device and the page that linked here. It does not set an identifier, cannot follow you to another site, and gives us no way to work out that two visits came from the same person. We use it to see which answers people actually need, and nothing else.
We also count four things a calculator can do: that it produced a result, that someone saved the result as a PDF, that someone opened the workings, and that someone changed an input on one of the estimators. These record only that the thing happened. They carry no dates, no amounts, no institution and no nationality — we can see that a calculation was made, never what it said or who made it.
There are none. We are not paid by anyone for any link on this site or in any email we send, and we have no affiliate arrangements. If that ever changes, it will be said plainly next to the link itself, never buried in a footer, and the figures will still never be affected by any commercial arrangement.
